Nigerian Army Tyranny in Alapata Community (Photos)July 13, 2018
This all started some years back when the Nigerian army came and started demolishing houses here and harassing people saying we are on thier land. The case was taken to court of law of after some years we came back victorious; the Nigerian army was asked to rebuild another fence at a designated area behind the 9 communities involved and we were asked to pay the sum of 150 thousand per plot and that the lands will be released to the owners. That was the court order
After payment of the money, we thought we were free of the Nigerian army tyranny, all for them to come back again and start harassing us, members of the alapata community, telling us that we would be forced to relocate because they want to build an estate on our land for which our houses were “unfit” for. We started pleading and praying to God and they started their activities with the promise that no houses will be touched nor will any problem arise till we have been relocated to houses that will be built for us by the Nigerian army, but there activities of late has been more that terrifying, people has been accused wrong for stealing thier equipments, buildings in processes have been demolished, land owner rights and privacy has been violated to say the least, as a matter of fact, living here has been nothing short of living in hell due to their activities
And now they took thier activities to a whole new level, yesterday (July 12, 2018) they blasted rocks and this affected quite a lot of houses in the area while people were also Harrassed and beaten even injured by the members of the Nigerian army in uniform.
The picture if the guys leg ace swollen arms and then the houses the the pan spoilt due to the blasting
And we were also told that we would relocate no matter what!
Please save our soul, save our houses. This, houses are people’s life work, and even some of our livelihood. This has gone to far! We occupy only a small potion of the large area of land that has already been taken.
Leave us alone!
Say no to Nigerian army tyranny!
Say no to forceful hijack, relocation and demolition of houses!
